Josh Adkins
LISW-S, LICDC
I believe therapy is first and foremost about connection—a space where you feel understood, valued, and never alone in what you’re facing. My role isn’t to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you, helping you uncover your strengths, make sense of your story, and move toward the life you want.
I draw from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and solution-focused approaches to help you navigate the patterns, memories, and challenges that might be holding you back. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and gently direct. I’ll meet you where you are, offer clear guidance, and support you in making changes at a pace that feels right for you.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or substance-use concerns, my goal is to help you feel grounded, supported, and capable of creating meaningful change.
My Clinical Focus

My Approach
I blend evidence-based methods with a strengths-based perspective, helping you discover your own capacity for resilience. I believe healing is about rediscovering your wholeness, not becoming someone else entirely. You can expect me to listen without judgment, challenge unhelpful patterns when it serves your growth, and celebrate your progress every step of the way.
My Background
Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor (LISW-S)
Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC)
Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
A Bit About Me
Outside of therapy, I’m often in my vegetable garden, where I find peace and mindfulness in the slow, steady work of tending the soil. I’m fascinated by history, and I love exploring museums, battlefields, and parks across the country. I’m also a lifelong fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, and The Lord of the Rings—stories that remind me of the courage, resilience, and transformation we’re all capable of. Sometimes, I draw from these worlds (or from the garden) in session, using them as gentle metaphors to help you see your own healing as a kind of hero’s journey toward balance and well-being.
